Erin Duarte, Lead Wraparound Coordinator with New Bedford Public Schools, brings 18+ years of progressive and dynamic experience to the student and families of NBPS. Erin is a native of New Bedford and a graduate of its school system, therefore, she understands the needs of the community. She knows firsthand how building authentic relationship with teachers and school staff can lead to student success. Erin is a prime example of what can happen when that one special teacher believes in you. Erin has a proven record of improving the accessibility, accountability, and coordination of services/support delivery in a variety of professional settings. Erin is skilled in social services coordination, student/family advocacy, community relationship development, professional communications, case management, and more. She is diligent and goal-oriented, with the skills, training, and hands-on experience needed to make an immediate positive impact on fellow colleagues and most importantly, the students and families that she services.
Erin has presented on the importance of family engagement at several conferences, including 2019 School Redesign in Action Conference, 2019 Massachusetts Association of School Committee Conference and the 2nd Annual Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Leading with Access and Equity Convening.
Erin is trained in Northeastern University's MVP (Mentors in Violence Prevention) Curriculum and the Anti-Deformation Leagues World of Difference Peer Leader Curriculum
Erin holds a BA in Humanities from Mount Ida College
